One Hundred Famous Views of Tokyo

This zine is inspired by the Meiji-era landscape paintings of Noel Nouet. I visited the same places in Tokyo that were depicted in his works and photographed the scenery in my own vision while imagining the feeling of that era. I collaborated with illustrator TOMOYA who painted from my photographs and art direction. Tourism is a growing industry in Japan, and buildings from the Edo and Meiji periods still exist today. By observing this scenery that blends into modern times, I hope this will be an opportunity for many to rediscover Tokyo. The index comes with a QR code to a guide map for readers to experience the scenery in person.
